Google Reviews Engine vs NiceJob.
Two ways to ask your customers for Google reviews, compared on what each company publishes. Every NiceJob fact is dated and linked to the page it came from.
Websites built free for local businesses. Then the systems that get you booked. £39 a month keeps us working on it to bring you more customers. No minimum term.
What each one is.
NiceJob is reputation marketing software for service businesses, based in Canada and priced in US dollars1, 4. You connect your job software or upload a list, and it sends review requests by text and email, with follow-ups2, 6. Our Google Reviews Engine is run for you from Manchester: when a job is finished, you send us the customer's first name and mobile, and they get one text from your own number with your Google review link.
| What | Build My Digital | NiceJob |
|---|---|---|
| The ask | When a job is finished, you send us the customer's first name and mobile (a text or WhatsApp to us is enough). They get one text from your own number, the number we set up for your missed-call text-back. The email version is coming. | A text or email when a job is marked done in software such as Jobber, Housecall Pro or QuickBooks, or when you add customers by hand or upload a list.2, 6 |
| Who gets the link | Every customer is asked, in the same words, with your Google review link in the first message, no reward and no star rating. | Their reviews page says requests are "sent to all customers after a completed job". The invite offers the review sites you connect, such as Google and Facebook. An optional setting asks for a 1 to 10 rating first, and every customer is still offered a public review.2, 9, 10 |
| Timing | Timed by job type: a call-out 2 hours after the job, an install 24 hours after, a salon 3 hours after, a clinic 4 hours after. Nothing goes before 08:00 or after 21:00 UK time, or on a bank holiday. | The first text goes as soon as the customer is enrolled. Texts are held between 9pm and 7am.7 |
| Reminders | One reminder three days later, only to customers who have not opened the link. A snag check 5 days after a call-out and 7 days after an install asks whether everything is still fine, with no review link. | Follow-ups 2 days after the first message, then 5 days later, and a final email 5 days after that: up to four messages over 14 days. They stop when a review is matched to the customer by name, or on STOP.6, 7 |
| Replies | Replies are read within minutes: a complaint, a question, a booking or a threat to post a bad review comes to us with a drafted answer, and we answer it or pass it to you. A reply is drafted for each Google review you or we paste in, for your approval before anything is posted, and a review of three stars or fewer is checked with you first. Posting is by hand. | Reply from the NiceJob dashboard. On Pro, AI Replies writes replies and can post them every evening, with an approval mode.1, 3, 11 |
| Price, as published | £299 setup, then £49 a month. Message costs billed to you by your own provider. | Starter $75 a month, Pro $125 a month, in US dollars, with AI Replies on Pro. 14-day free trial.1 |
| Contract | Cancel monthly, no exit fees. | No contract. Billing renews each month until you cancel before the end of the month.1, 5 |
| In the UK | Based in Manchester, working with UK businesses. | Their AI reference page says NiceJob, headquartered in Canada, serves "7,000+ businesses globally" and describes a platform "serving businesses across North America". Their terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia, Canada, and plans are priced in US dollars.1, 4, 5 |

Five real differences.
- Who runs it
- NiceJob is software you sign up to and run from your own account, with a 14-day free trial and help getting set up1. Ours is run for you: when a job is finished, you send us the customer's first name and mobile, and we send the ask from your own number and read the replies within minutes.
- How many messages
- NiceJob's default sends up to four messages over 14 days: a text first, then follow-ups by email, or by text on accounts opened from October 2026 when you only have a mobile6, 7, 8. Ours sends the ask as one text, one reminder three days later only to customers who have not opened the link, and after call-outs and installs a snag check with no review link.
- Where the link goes
- NiceJob's invite offers the review sites you connect, such as Google and Facebook, and can ask for a 1 to 10 rating first if you turn that on9, 10. Ours is your Google review link itself, in the first message, for every customer.
- Starting from your job software
- NiceJob can enrol customers by itself when you complete a job or mark an invoice paid in Jobber, Housecall Pro or QuickBooks6. Ours starts when you send us the customer's first name and mobile, and a text or WhatsApp to us is enough. The ask firing by itself from a booking or invoicing tool is coming.
- Replies to your reviews
- On Pro, NiceJob's AI Replies can write and post replies every evening, with an approval mode if you want to check them first1, 3. With us, a reply is drafted for each Google review you or we paste in, for your approval before anything is posted, and a review of three stars or fewer is checked with you first. Posting is by hand.
