Booking pages, and the phone.
Searching the borough for salons, barbers, dog groomers and personal trainers, we opened 77 homepages that send visitors on to Instagram, in the searches dated above. A booking system was visible on 30; 47 had no sign of one.
We also dialled 41 Bolton numbers on weekdays, over the dates given above. Whether they were answered we keep to ourselves: one side of that count is below 5. A booking page serves the customers who would rather book themselves. For the ones who ring and get no answer, there is our receptionist.
We built 23 previews here between 3 and 4 September 2026, 7 of them with a Book button.
Bolton's 2,421 registered food businesses include 516 restaurants, cafes and canteens. A table booking that rings out in the middle of service is one the place down the road can take.
Horwich to Little Lever.
Bolton borough stretches from Horwich and Blackrod in the west to Little Lever, and down through Westhoughton, Farnworth and Kearsley. Its addresses fall in BL1, BL2, BL3, BL4, BL5, BL6, BL7, BL8, BL11, BL78, M26, M46, WN1, WN2 on the ONS Postcode Directory. M46 and WN2 are shared with Wigan, so we place each business by its own postcode.
